RYT500, C-IAYT (Certified Yoga Therapist)

Having practiced yoga for many years, I became an instructor to deepen my own practice and to share the benefits I had experienced with others.  As a teacher, I am always a student and enjoy to continually learn from my students, colleagues, through workshops and trainings.  I strive to adapt yoga to each student’s need, so the practice is accessible to anyone.   My goal is for my students to build inner and outer strength through awareness, breath and movement, while achieving calmness, resilience and joy in their daily lives.   Special interests include mindfulness, stress management, yoga therapy, cardiac and cancer recovery, along with traditional hatha, yin, vin-yin and chair styles of yoga.

RYT 500, MA Education

My journey with yoga began when I was 10 years old and attended my first yoga class with my mom.  Yoga has been with me over the past 40 years, and that span of time has solidified my belief that yoga is for EVERY body, age, and ability.  I enjoy experimenting with props and movement patterns and studying how yoga affects the nervous system.  Some of my interests include yoga as integrated movement (mixing modalities like Pilates, weight bearing/resistance, somatic movement), yoga for aging/longevity, and yoga for resilience.

I hold a master’s degree in education, I am mama to 3, and a wife to my husband of 30 years!  In my free time, I enjoy running, hiking, strength training, being in nature, playing with my dogs, reading, knitting and eating fresh baked cookies 🙂
